Dominique Richard has been awarded the 2015 Grand Binding Prize for nature and environment protection in a ceremony in Vaduz, Liechtenstein on Friday 6 November. The prize was in recognition of her commitment and more broadly of the ETC/BD's work in helping to create the Natura 2000 network of protected areas.

The Binding Foundation, created in 1985 by Sophie and Karl Binding, awards through the Binding prize for nature protection and environment, outstanding initiatives and projects at both national and international levels. Each year three to four prizes of CHF10, 000 are awarded to individuals or organisations who have shown outstanding initiatives or services related to protecting the environment in their field of action within their community or region, these prizes are essentially for the German speaking community. The 'Grand Prix Binding' of CHF50, 000 is awarded for outstanding achievements in the conservation of natural resources or for the protection of nature, landscapes and the environment.
