2010 has been declared by the UN to be the International Year of Biodiversity.
It is a celebration of life on earth and of the value of biodiversity for our lives where the world is invited to safeguard the variety of life on earth: biodiversity.

The Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (MNHN) is one of 50 partner institutions spread across the planet that are partners in supporting the International Year of Biodiversity.
To celebrate the launch of the International Year of Biodiversity on 11 January, the European Environment Agency (EEA) is commencing a series of concise, thematic assessments of biodiversity, entitled '10 messages for 2010'. The first of these '10 messages for 2010' presents the interaction between climate change and biodiversity.
