Outputs of some ETC activities can be found both on the search product page and on EEA web site on biodiversity, Nature and many other related themes with added meta data.
ETC/BD also maintains a list of initiatives of Conservation Status assessments of species and habitats (list of Redlists). These are organised following geographical categories.
Some key activities
- Support to the EU nature directives (e.g. Natura 2000 and Article 17 reporting)
- Development of biodiversity-related indicators: EEA Core Set of Indicators and SEBI 2010 indicators
- Preparation and contribution to reports and papers: ETC/BD working papers and EEA reports.
- Reference portals for reporting under Article 12 of the Birds Directive and Article 17 of the Habitats Directive
Overview of activities
- ETC/BD activities are organised following the EEA 2009-2013, Multi annual work programme and the Annual Management Plan of the EEA.
- A number of activities were initiated by the previous ETCs,respectively on Nature Conservation (1995-2000), on Nature Protection and Biodiversity (2001-2004), and Biological Diversity (2005-2008), as described in the three contextual and five topic oriented factsheets (see below). These factsheets mostly cover the work done since 2005 as a contribution to the European Environment Agency Strategy 2004-2008 and its Multiannual Work Programmes.
